Prior to the acquisition of LEVEL, Rosetta ranked as the nation's largest independent interactive agency and one of the 10 largest overall, according to Advertising Age.

Leadership

Tom Adamski

President | CEO

The Believer. After 11 years at the agency (including 8 years as its CEO), Tom remains LEVEL’s biggest fan. Committed to building a sustainable organization with strong identity and purpose, Tom guided LEVEL to debt-free profitability in 2004 and has since maintained a compound annual growth average of 48%. Before LEVEL, Tom spent nearly 4 years in marketing and product development at Xing Technology Corporation, which was acquired by RealNetworks in 1999. Passionate about creativity and brand since his days as a UC Davis design student, Tom’s approach to executive leadership uniquely applies structured design methodology to the unstructured challenges of business. Tom balances his career with regular doses of family, surfing and strumming a vintage guitar or two.

Think about how a 15% lift in enthusiasm can produce new ideas, focus and satisfaction at work. When people enjoy performing at a higher level, clients get better results.

Alexander Mahernia

Chief Creative Officer

The Artiste. Alex is passionate about art and excellence in execution. Designing for the interactive space since the mid-90s, his extreme attention to detail drives the LEVEL aesthetic. Alex believes that simplistic design will always prevail and that technology needs to be a transparent layer that facilitates successful user-interface experiences. Leading the LEVEL Creative department, Alex blends design, user experience, copy and interactive disciplines to deliver award-worthy creative. He brought a fine arts degree from Stockholm, Sweden in route to California. Stateside he earned degrees in multimedia arts and technology, graphic design and graphic business management and started two design companies before signing on with LEVEL in 1999. When the project is complete, Alex grabs his passport and explores beaches and art in different corners of the world. Recharged. Inspired. Rinse. Repeat.

We are all designers, architects and strategists. The nature of our work is collaborative because captivating solutions require input from a variety of experts. Our common thread is professional achievement and exceeding client expectations. We exist to do the impossible.

Andy DeNecochea

VP | Financial Operations

The Goose. Andy is not tempted by the allure of the golden egg. Throughout his 6-year tenure at LEVEL, Andy's experience, character and integrity have helped nurture the growth of the agency as well as its employees. Before joining LEVEL, Andy held executive positions at Wavefront Technologies, Magellan Geographic, Inc., Transoft Networks and Motion Engineering. Andy also managed all Santa Barbara facilities, contracts and systems for Hewlett-Packard. When LEVEL exceeds expectations, there is no better company than The Goose. Making the right decisions at the right time, he may even let you in on how he acquired his moniker.

LEVEL aims to deliver phenomenal operational efficiency. Because a team effort is critical to addressing the needs of clients as well as our staff, we work together to ensure that the agency runs smoothly across the board.

Tom Kotlarek

VP | Technology Services

The Rocket Scientist. Tom K takes technology very seriously. A 25-year technology veteran, Tom's resume reads like a spy thriller. He has produced spacecraft database systems for Jet Propulsion Laboratory/NASA and has also dabbled in red carpet appearances while heading up IT for DreamWorks SKG. Tom has been leading the Technology and Core teams at LEVEL since 2004. His current brainchild is SWITCH, the company's fourth generation content management platform. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Michigan Tech: affirmative. Graduate degree in Computer Information Systems from Claremont Graduate University: roger.

The key to delivering a simple, effective user experience is complex technology done well. If the technology is noticeable, it potentially ruins the user's brand perception. Technology should seamlessly enable deeper connections with a brand.

Curt Van Inwegen

VP | Client Services

The Smooth Operator. Leveraging senior-level marketing, strategy and account management expertise, Curt maintains solid relationships across all LEVEL clients with the goal of ensuring unequivocal customer satisfaction. His smooth style blossomed in the 80s while cruising his IROC-Z listening to Foreigner. Prior to LEVEL, Curt served on the Orb Networks, Inc. executive team where he managed strategic partnerships with brands like Vodafone, Intel and Nokia. Before that, he ran Wirestone's San Diego office and led client teams for Apple, eBay and HP while keeping things consistently profitable and beach-friendly. The Jesuits let him by with a BA from Loyola in Maryland and an MBA from Loyola, LA. Curt's smooth style has matured as he now cruises his Lexus while listening to Rodrigo y Gabriella.

I’ve found that regardless of my job, the idea of providing value wrapped in service is a noble goal. Here, we strive towards a service mentality that is on par with our award-winning creative and technology to continue earning the trust and respect of our clients.

Paul Rappoport

VP | Entertainment, Media & Gaming

The Game Changer. Paul is a corporate strategist adept at balancing the pragmatic with the creative. As a field general, he collects information, evaluates variants and moves the pieces around to develop the corresponding plan of action to achieve desired results. Before leading the agency’s company-wide operations, finance and human resources, Paul worked for Activision Blizzard Inc., Electronic Arts Inc. and The Walt Disney Company. Hailing from San Diego, Paul secured an economics degree from UCSD before heading to Boston University to earn an MBA in Finance and International Business. Paul continually devises new ways to influence LEVEL’s evolution as a leading digital agency – all for the love of the game.

The new source of power is not money in the hands of a few, but information in the hands of many.

Patrick Dahl

VP | Consumer Technology

Ski Patrol. Patrick has the discipline and training to manage some of the agency’s largest client relationships. He balances this professionalism with time well spent outdoors, cycling to work, windsurfing or volunteering as a Ski Patroller. Before leading all of headquarters’ projects, Patrick spent his early career providing qualitative market research for Pepsi, Microsoft and Apple. While working at Hodes and Auspient, he developed digital strategies for global brands, some of which include Intel, CareerMosaic, AltaVista, MySimon, Lucky Brand Jeans and Modern Amusement. He earned a BS in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University. Spanning Double Black Diamonds and ginormous amounts of client work, Patrick is calm, cool and collected, ensuring that everyone safely enjoys the journey. Ski tips up.

Working on digital initiatives is more than just focusing on design and build. Positively impacting a client’s business requires a passionate, dedicated team that works together to deliver intelligent insights and solid execution.

Daniel Blackburn

VP | Mobile

The Mobile Sage. Daniel leads the agency’s mobile practice, crafting strategy and creating experiences that go beyond the desktop to connect customers with brands across multiple devices. While helping clients keep pace with rapid innovations in the mobile space, he remains grounded in the principle that experiences must consider the consumer, their context, and the constraints of device platforms and form factors. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with brands like Kraft, RIM, Toyota and Intel. Mobile marketer by day, Daniel's true devotion is to his family and to soccer teams Chelsea and Real Madrid. Gooaall!

Mobile is being defined by consumer behavior that expects to engage with brands across multiple screens. As marketers, we have to embrace this experience portability and transform mobile activity into effective mobile strategies that deliver tangible business results.
